As people of the “Digital Age”, we are all connected to at least one social media network these days. Starting with Facebook, social media has become the new social phenomenon that has changed the way the world behaves. Social media marketing is the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social media sites.
What happens in Social media marketing is basically creating and sharing content in order to attract attention of the consumers. The generated “electronic word of mouth” (eWoM) refers to any statements or comments the consumers share via web sites, social networks, instant messages, news feeds etc. Digital marketers can use social media to highlight their events, products, services, brands or virtually anything.
The unique specialty about social media marketing is that it helps the consumers have a sense of trustworthiness of the content that is being marketed because the marketing content that you want to promote is passed among the users and it appears to have come from a trusted, third-party source. This is a way better way of marketing in contrast to promoting your brand or company all by yourself, while earning you more and more organic and genuine followers than that of paid media.
